Worship Participants
Participating in the Sunday and Weekday worship allows members to join in on many levels, using their gifts in the course of the worship, behind the scenes or in hospitality. See which might fit you best. Participating actively in our corporate worship helps us all to find greater meaning in the rituals and prayers we share. Don't worry if you do not know how, mentoring and training is provided for anyone interested.
Altar Guild: Cares for the altar vessels and linens and prepares the worship space for Sundays and special services.
Flower Guild: Arrange and care for the flowers that decorate the altar each week.
Music Ministry: Sing in the choir at the 10:30 Sunday service for special occasions, share your own musical gifts during worship.
In the service itself: Ushers (greet all who enter, assist newcomers); Lectors/Readers (read the weekly lessons and prayers of the people to the congregation); Acolytes (attend the priest at the altar, carry the cross, torches (candles), Gospel book, in procession); Chalice Bearers (assist in distributing wine during communion)
Eucharistic Visitors: Take communion on visits to members who cannot attend the worship service.
Hospitality: Host weekly coffee hour following the 10:30 service, coffee, juice, simple snacks. This is a great time of fellowship and gathering where members can "catch up" on the week.
Worship Leaders: Lead Morning Prayer when a priest is not available.
